Our Story
Currently residing in Essex, CT—roughly 739 miles away—we chose Southport, NC, as our retirement destination. After visiting St. James Plantation in March 2011, we were so impressed by the beach and golf amenities that we purchased "The Sand Dollar" just six weeks later.In July 2018, we transitioned to "Cottage Retreat," a larger property better suited for extended stays within this quiet, all-ages gated community. We now split our time between New England and North Carolina, trading the fast-paced Northeast for the relaxed hospitality of the Mid-Atlantic. This photo was taken at Fishy Fishy Cafe, one of our favorite local haunts in Southport.
